Job Description: I routinely provide a reliable input concerning the most efficient order priority of work to be accomplished based on technical knowledge of maintenance requirements and processes.

Routine maintains a current technical knowledge and accurately answers questions of others on methods, procedures, policies, written instructions, technical orders, and other directives.

Routinely maintains a professional courteous and efficient working relationship with supervisor, co-workers and others whom job related contacts become necessary contributing to a cooperative working environment successful and timely accomplishment of work.

Operates the thermal spray equipment to build up surfaces of prototype, experimental, and applied research hardware items with thermal, erosion, or corrosion barriers, using highly specialized coatings of metals, alloy, refractory materials, ceramics, resins, etc. Ensures that needed plans, blueprints, and schematics. Materials and equipment are available when needed. Obtains needed information or decisions from supervisor or work leader on unusual problems, schedules, time and quality standards. Trouble shoots thermal spray equipment.

A. Routinely evaluates requirements which include specific criteria as to type and thickness of material, number and sequence of coatings, and similar

specifications.

B. Routinely reviews tables and manuals or consults with engineers or metallurgists to determine potential method of meeting requirements.

C. Routinely detentions accurate methods and techniques to employ.

D. Routinely interprets basic mctallographic skills of coating microstructure to make necessary process adjustment to obtain coating quality.

Sets up and operates equipment. Mounting article to be coated and adjusting controls to achieve desired temperature, gas and powder flow, and other conditions.

Typical work assignments at this level include the dis assembly of aircraft or major components for overhaul or modification. I’ve performed repairs of limited complexity such as removing and replacing worn or damaged gaskets, pneudraulic lines and couplings, fuel cells cables, and pulleys. They follow detailed procedures that spec if y task. Sequences. Tolerances. Etc.

I’m also able to determine when parts and components may be cleaned and reinstalled or must be directions including disassembly. Assembly. and adjustment directions for tasks such as replacing control cables and pulleys, lacing in fuel bladders, and reinstalling hydraulic lines, air ducts, and inspection plates. They have skill in the care and use of hand and power tools used in aircraft work.

Position: Welding Work Leader

I coordinated welders with the jobs that had to be done to make sure that their work was efficient and had the best quality and satisfaction for our customers. I made sure everyone worked in a safe, and productive manner in the shop.

I also would perform welding duties using mig, arc welding, flux core, used cutting torch, and rose bud, grinders, cutting saw, and track torch. Also had to fabricate use layouts, blueprints to put sheet metal together.

As a work leader I worked independently on the basis of oral or written instructions from the supervisor, engineers, or scientists, and from blueprints, sketches, drawings. Work orders, or other specifications which indicate the requirements to be met.

Contract Welder

I conducted a variety of arc welding on rigs and did maintenance repairs also I did welding on vessels, pumping stations, tanks, ladder racks, doors,

Roofs, skids. I fabricated metal buildings, stairs, Guard rails, trailers, jacks. Also made repairs to all types of heavy equipment like: skid steers, dump trucks,

Front end loader, backhoe, dozers, and boom lifts. I also did some Pipeline welding on oil and gas lines. The welding position used, to a limited degree, affects the difficulty of welding work. Generally. The vertical and overhead positions are considered more difficult than the flat and horizontal positions. The use of particular welding positions is, in itself: not grade significant.

• Computing data, summarizing results, and preparing reports or charts depicting pertinent relationships using statistical methods.

• Investigating customer complaints and deficiency reports, and providing identification of causes to appropriate authorities.

• Reading, interpreting, and applying technical data such as blueprints, engineering drawings, product specifications, or technical manuals.

• Reviewing and evaluating supply systems operations and procedures through periodic audits and surveillance inspections.
