Work History
Cloudbakers - LaGuardia Airport- Manager, Information Technology
Chicago, IL, 05/2019 - Current

Management of the corporate IT team and infrastructure of Terminal B at LaGuardia Airport. Overseeing and executing various IT initiatives and projects dedicated to the launch of new airport infrastructure and terminal management. Focusing on the delivery of quality services to stakeholders by leveraging strong relationships with subcontractors and service providers. Examples of work completed as follows:

  • Balancing and forecasting of corporate IT budget. Budget in excess of 4.5 million dollars. Yearly forecasting exercises include a 5 year outlook and constantly developing and refining the departments roadmap. Detailing spend, new hires, and department growth for executive team and board of directors. Achieved a 20% reduction in department costs compared to prior year while maintaining operational integrity and no major changes to services provided.
  • Leading various IT projects from concept to completion. Projects include various aspects of airport infrastructure, digital signage, disaster recovery tabletop simulations, network upgrades, VPN and Firewall configurations, and red/blue team cybersecurity simulations.
  • Developed corporate cybersecurity strategy and action plans to ensure business continuity. Reduced incident rate of compromised accounts by 35% with end user education and training. Preparing for future NIST and ISO:27001 accreditation.
  • Auditing of terminal-wide disaster recovery procedures and processes for various different network technologies (Fiber - PON, Copper), isolated networks, and vendor specific networks.
  • Deployed new disaster recovery specific hardware allowing a fully automatic recovery of corporate servers, associated VM's, and SAN's. Reducing recovery time by 4 hours as opposed to requiring manual intervention. This solution reduced the cost of a recovery scenario by transitioning away from Microsoft Azure, resulting in a costs savings of 30k per annum and removing the cost of launching VM's to Microsoft's cloud.
  • Oversaw the development of the PON diversification program. This new fiber optic configuration would reduce the loss of critical services to stakeholders due to a disaster scenario by 60%. This also reduces the potential cost of disaster associated late delays charged by airlines by >35%.
  • Part of LaGuardia Gateway Partners pandemic response team; Provided IT leadership and guidance for corporate business owners and C-level executives through the COVID-19 pandemic. Ensuring all critical systems are prepared to mitigate disruption to services by ensuring that key personnel are either working remotely or being distanced to reduce risk of infection. As well as expanding VPN access for employees to ensure operations and routine remain mostly unchanged.
  • Identifying gaps in services for corporate IT infrastructure and improving processes. Lead development of airport partners CRM software dedicated to streamlining operations.
  • Communicating with senior management and CTO to maximize development efficiencies and resolve technology issues.
