  • Presently serve as the Lead Watch Officer and backup to the Emergency Preparedness Coordinator for the Office of Acquisitions, Logistics and Construction (OALC) performing analytical duties and act as a liaison between OALC and the Department of Veteran Affairs Integrated Operations Center (IOC)
  • The first part of my core function is to provide Watch Officers the leadership and guidance to ensure the 24/7 monitoring of IOC information

  • Monitor domestic and world situations, status of the Veterans Affairs Integrated Operations Center (VA IOC) and COOP/COG sites, and all VA components and subcomponents to assess VA's national, regional, and/or local operational and preparedness/readiness capability
  • Assist in coordinating, developing, maintaining, and monitoring VA actions in support of COOP/COG, Crisis Response Team (CRT), Emergency Relocation Group (ERG) activations; and inter/intra agency exercises
  • Coordinate with other site staff to determine the overall operational readiness of the Department and prepare feedback to the Assistant Secretary for Operations, Security and Preparedness (OSP) for use in briefing VA Senior leadership
  • Maintain, manage, and take appropriate actions on all incoming and outgoing communication (voice, written, and data) with VA IOC personnel (peer-to-peer), VA leadership, staff offices, or components as directed; and federal, state, local, and tribal authorities
