Bay Area Gun Vault - Sales Associate / DOJ FSC Instructor
City, STATE, 11/2015 - 08/2018

Customer Service was one our main tasks. Knowledgeable in firearms. Focused sales were set on a wide variety of firearms; from the higher end down to the oddities.

Document procurement and processing for DOJ fire and registration purposes. Paperwork was another main task which was held in high regard. Even one letter or a number off was not acceptable upon submission to DOJ. Worked very closely with the managers and the store owner as large monetary exchanges were being made. Made calls to DOJ for information exchange such as an applicant being deemed denied, rejected, delayed, etc. Making those calls to the firearm applicants letting them know what the status is of their application.

  • Won store sales competition for monthly sales (most handgun sold/most rifles sold, most shotguns sold, largest single purchase, resulting in first and second placings (2nd overall within the time I've worked there.)
Target Masters West - Range Officer / DOJ FSC Instructor / Cashier
City, STATE, 03/2014 - 11/2015

Customer service and handled monetary transactions. Assured no felons were in the present in building due to restrictions whereas they were not allowed to shoot or even in the facility. Made sure experienced shooters abided by the rules of the firing range and tested to new shooters through, identification analysis, verbal examination and a hands on demonstrations. While in the range, if any malfunctions were to occur such as a misfires, double feeds, failure to feed, squibs load, etc. when called upon I would be one of the few to ensure the that firearm still operates and works properly. If a user error was found to be the issue, then a follow up in range explanation and hands on instruction would be initiated and shooter may resume shooting in a safe manner.

Sold firearms as to dealing with money by handling the exchanges while submitting paperwork into the DOJ registration system for applicants purchasing a firearm or firearms. Delivered firearms to the applicants who have passed the registration process and denied those who are not allowed to acquire any at all.

Assessed and tested new shooters for new gun orders for newly acquired skills and adequate handling of firearms. Graded test for those who wanted a permit to own firearm, issued firearm safety certificate to those who've successfully passed their permit test since I obtained a COE (certificate of eligibility) therefore allowed me to become a certified DOJ firearms instructor.
