Starting as a salesman in the electronic components department I was required to educate myself in a wide range of devices and general electronic parts and accessories such as universal power adapters and heat shrink tubing, as well as internal computer components and networking equipment that is vital to every company in operation.
My normal responsibilities included maintaining the department's presentation, organizing and keeping product stocked and accounted for.
As a management trainee I was given the rights and responsibilities of a supervisor which was to ensure other salesmen were carrying out daily duties and opening and closing the department ensuring updated prices were changed correctly and all paperwork for the department was accurate and submitted properly.
As with previous jobs I've maintained good communication skills and a personable disposition with customers and employees alike which led me to become the top salesman and eventually supervisor of the department.

After becoming supervisor in my department, I kept most of the same responsibilities but was also required to be aware and maintain more detailed aspects of the department.

At Best Buy I primarily assisted in returns and exchanges, selling extended warranty plans and assisted with product price matching, as well as other general questions customers had regarding products and their extended warranty purchases.
I also processed tax exempt forms for customers that purchased items from Best Buy stores but lived outside of the United States of America in order to refund taxes.
As a part of the process of returning or exchanging an item customer service employees were also in charge of detailed notation regarding certain exceptions or particular situations and correctly classifying products that were not resellable or recyclable.
Customer service associates were also in charge of maintaining a clean and organized work environment and be able to accurately direct customers to different departments and maintain knowledge of current products.

At the McAllen Nursing Center I performed a variety of tasks including updating personal chart data and forms multiple times a day, managing itinerary for individual and/or groups of residents, as well as filing paper work in their corresponding areas.

Other assistant's responsibilities included secretarial work: answering calls and forwarding them to the corresponding departments or department heads, taking concise and accurate messages to deliver them to the appropriate persons and acquiring signatures constantly for resident's activities.
Scheduling for residents appointments was sensitive in timing and notifying front desk employees properly was always high priority.
Documentation and filing is very important in these facilities and we took steps to make sure any audit of our files were up to par by filing copies or forms for different residents files and departments and signatures were all accounted for, these were also highly sorted as the facility needed to keep residents files for several years even after they left.
I also assisted in many events hosted by the Nursing facility for the community and residents to interact and enjoy.
In this facility I learned to communicate efficiently so that departments and supervisors share accurate information which is vital regarding patients and their capabilities and tolerances.

I've always assisted in this family owned shop since I was young and was taught how to assist customers in deciding what they are looking for and offering solutions when customers need help deciding on products.
I was also able to gauge and price items cost to determine what price I could give to the customer while maintaining good margin.
Dealing with funeral arrangements, mums, baskets, plants and traditional flower arrangements my family taught me the differences of each as well as the flowers they contained.
The general management of the store was given to me on occasion to direct the all activities during our Valentine's Day, and other holidays, which required time management and careful planning as well as thorough and constant communication with drivers and flower arrangers to make sure all orders were correct and fulfilled successfully.
This was also my primary source of instruction regarding the methods of making and closing sales, advertising the correct components and building a relationship to create a returning customer.
