  • The Director of Foster Care assumes the primary responsibility for stimulating, supporting and developing a broad spectrum of program objectives and licensing efforts for the Supported Foster Care program.
  • The position requires extensive public speaking as well as coordination with community providers and other team members.
  • Specific management responsibilities include the:.
  • Development and implementation of the KID Supported Foster Care recruitment campaign that promoted the program mission through presentations to various groups, corporations, and foundations.
  • Included the graphic production of recruitment materials, coordination of recruitment events as well as representation of the agency at community events.
  • Promotion of the Agency by way of public speaking engagements at professional conferences, community agencies and civic organizations.
  • Graphic production of all program in-service training presentations and materials.
  • Graphic production of quarterly newsletters and monthly program correspondence.
  • Coordination and facilitation of MAPP trainings for prospective foster families as well as monthly in-service trainings and meetings for active foster families.
  • Drafted a core set of in-service training proposals based upon client feedback as to which trainings would best support the Foster/Adoptive parent population.
  • Designed and implemented a series of graphic presentations for core in-service training topics.

  • Preparation and submission of monthly billing and statistical reports as well as quarterly census reports.
  • Coordination of child placement through the successful identification of foster families best suited to serve the children in care.
  • Supervision of family support counselors and their related tasks and performance.
  • Compilation of all necessary documentation required by the Department of Children and Families and ChildNet, including licensing narratives and addendums to said narratives, in order to obtain the respective foster home initial license or re-licensure.
  • Monitor quality of care by performing regular in-home visits for observation, motivation, systems reviews, and on-site training.
  • Participation in relevant community education/community service programs and local interagency collaborative efforts.
  • Schedule and coordinate social activities for foster families.
  • Provide 24-hour crisis intervention to foster families.
  • Assisted in the development of policies and procedures for the program.
  • Assisted in the development of the KID volunteer buddy program to support active foster homes by matching them with volunteers that provide consistent respite services.
