Director of Disability Services, 09/2005 to Current
Ucla Health – Beaufort , SC
  • Provide intake services to requesting students to evaluate relevant documentation and determine eligibility for services 
  • Create individualized plans of reasonable accommodations/adjustments that enable qualified students with disabilities to participate in a course, program, facility, activity, or service.  
  • Facilitate alternative testing for students requiring extended time, separate environment, reader, and or scribe; for classroom testing, college placement, and standardized national exams.  
  • Coordinate handicap parking registration for all three of the college's campuses
  • Work with local school districts and personnel to prepare graduating high school students with disabilities for transition to post-secondary 
  • Meet with students to provide information and provide referrals to off campus counseling/mental health services
  • Collaborate with other members of the Student Success and Enrollment Services division to plan and host various programming and events on campus for students.  
  • Serve as the college's blood drive coordinator, teaming up with the American Red Cross to host two drives each semester at various campuses
  • Create and present training sessions to educate students, college faculty and staff, and/or community members about specific types of disabilities, history of disability rights in America, and other various topics
