Supplement To Background/Criminal History

I have included this letter in explanation of my criminal history. Not to excuse, but only to explain my history in hopes of understanding. I am a US Army Veteran of the Iraq War. After returning home in 2008, I began suffering from symptoms of PTSD. Sadly and regrettably I self-medicated with drugs and alcohol for many years ultimately spiraling both my personal life and professional career into the ground. Everything since has been a process of educating myself and seeking treatment for both PTSD and Substance Abuse. However, the damage left in my past criminally cannot be done. I have successfully completed treatment and have been happy, healthy, and sober for many months now and simply wish to return to productive society and continue my path and purpose without the disease I've fought so hard to leave in the past. I am honest, willing, and remain open minded in this process of seeking employment and i promise and opportunity to work for your company will not be wasted nor unappreciated. Any additional consideration before adverse action on the basis of my background and criminal history would be greatly appreciated.

Gratefully,

Jessica Claire
