• Acknowledge customers in a friendly and helpful manner
• Handle all returns courteously and professionally
• Determine customer needs based on personal features and other customer preference related factors
• Demonstrate knowledge of store products and services to build sales and minimize returns
• Suggest additional merchandise to compliment customer selection
• Offer to call other locations if merchandise is unavailable within store
• Offer to put purchase on customer’s TJX rewards credit card toward the end of the shopping experience
• Invite customers to come back and thank them by name whenever possible
• Responsible for achieving personal sales goals and TJX Reward goals
• Be aware of current promotional events and sales
• Maintain good housekeeping standards
• Perform other duties as needed
• Answers phone calls and assists in-person customers regarding general questions, facility reservations and summer camp sign ups
• Processes program registrations using computer software
• Handles daily cash, credit card and check transactions, and daily cash drawer reconciliation
• Completes daily drop log and accounting log
• Assists with special event preparations and works the day of the event if assigned
• Assists with the preparation and operation of program areas assigned including ordering office or program supplies
• Processes Recreation ID card purchases
• Assists with general facility maintenance and upkeep
• Monitors and maintains a clean and safe work environment, department equipment and supplies
• Assists Contract Instructors with the daily needs of each program, including room set-up, equipment needs, and printing rosters
• Assists with coordinating and scheduling field, facility, and picnic reservations
• Assists with training new front desk and recreation staff, staff scheduling and shift coverage, as needed
• Coordinates and updates display cases, bulletin boards and posting of other promotional signage at various recreation facilities
• Participates in regularly scheduled staff meetings with supervisor to report all operational updates, challenges, and occurrences
• Assists Supervisor/Coordinator with the coordination and implementation of recreation programs
• Ensures that Incident/Accident Reports are properly completed and submitted timely
• Provides a high level of customer service by displaying courteous and professional behavior toward all patrons, contract instructors, other employees, and supervisors
• Performs other duties as assigned.
