As a seasonal clerk, it is necessary to have strong office and computer application skills. The characteristics that are required of a Seasonal clerk include; diligence, following and listening to instructions, completing tasks before deadlines, customer service, and multitasking. Duties performed on a daily basis include: Mail; mail is done daily which involves receiving, opening, date stamping, sorting, and distributing mail to different units. Record Filing; Once forms and applications are processed, I then organize forms based on app type and file in proper folders in alphabetical order. Computer applications and Data Bases; Once I receive forms and applications, I then enter information from the applications into the database for records. For applications already in the system, I then update and add new information to existing records. I also enter forms into spreadsheets and other large databases as well. Proofreading; seasonal clerks proofread incoming applications which require reading, paying close attention to detail, and understanding documents. Maintain and operate office machinery; another duty that is required of me is to operate machinery such as phones, printers, and fax machines. As to performing clerical duties, we also assist our supervisors as directed which ranges from simple to difficult work that requires supervision.
