City, STATE, 08/1999 - 06/2019
  • Inspected vehicle daily and personally handled routine upkeep such as adding gas sweeping out bus.
  • Obeyed DOT rules and regulations in addition to local laws and stipulations.
  • Obeyed traffic laws and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
  • Operated navigation equipment and two-way radio while remaining focused on safety and efficiency.
  • Watched seven mirrors, the traffic around me, and the children behind me to keep the bus safe while it moved down the road.
  • Operated specialized equipment including motorized lifts & wheelchairs.
  • Performed all duties with personable communication and professionalism, including bus operation and passenger interaction.
  • Allowed the children to feel like it was their bus by allowing them to take photos of them selves. I printed out all the photos posted them all around the interior of the bus for everyone to see. (this included Pajama Day and Wacky Hair Day!)
  • I would have the whole bus sing The Happy Birthday song for anyone who had a birthday.

  • Had good rapport with parents of children on my bus and it went a long way in keeping my bus a safe and friendly place to be.
  • Always made sure I posted beautiful/humorous pictures up on my bus to go along with thought-provoking sayings for the children to read and think about. (The teacher in me, lol!)
  • I tolerated no bullying, fighting, picking or trashing my bus. Apologies were enforced, myself included.
  • Found myself teaching the children important life skills such as patience, listening to others, not blowing things out of proportion and letting things get to them, allowing the other person to finish what they are saying before responding, stop interrupting others, to keep calm during an emergency and most importantly to be themselves because they were perfect just the way they were!

  • On Christmas, Easter and Halloween every child got a bag of candy from me and some to take home for younger brothers and sisters as well. This means I would often have to make up 100+ bags of candy for my Bus Kids!🚍
