Professional Summary
Since I was 19, I have been working with youth and their families. I began my career at Christamore Family Treatment Center where I was a Caseworker. We would get many clients in there for many reasons but as a Caseworker my job was to do individual counseling, family counseling and group counseling. Through the 8 years that I did work there, we had many teenager's come through that had been sexually abused as a child or raped as a teenager. I also had many parent's come out during sessions that they had been a victim of sexual assault as well. As a counselor it was my job to work with these teenagers and families to begin to heal, connect them with resources and help them with communication when they were ready to talk to their extended families about it. For the last 5 years I have been a FSRP provider for DHS, where I would work with the children and the parents. I would work with the children on their behaviors and would work through different curriculums to help this. When meeting with the parents and children two times a week I would work the parent's on ensuring that they were meeting the needs of the children. I also would work with the children on how to cope in a positive manner with their emotions and feelings.
