Experience
06/2013 to Current CAD Designer/Engineering Technician Boeing Commercial Airplanes | City, STATE,

RelJessicat Project Highlights:

737 BCF Main Deck Cargo Door Mechanism:

  • Applied and utilized ASME y-14.5 2009 GD&T to develop drawings from concepts for 737-800 BCF Main Deck cargo door's main drive mechanism, Pull-In Hooks and all their details to assemblies to installations.
  • Tolerances such as close ream hole limit tolerances, true position, profile of a surface, Assembly tolerances.
  • Updated models as required for changes

737 BCF Main Deck Cargo Door Structure:

  • Led the 3D modeling effort for 737-BCF Main Deck Cargo Door surrounding structure. Utilizing surfacing techniques, Aerospace sheet metal. Crown Frame assemblies, Keel Frame Assemblies, Secondary support for cargo linings, Skin Panels.
  • This was a hybrid of V4-V5 mass conversion, and new models from drawings or incomplete CAD geometry.

767 Long Flow Structural Repairs:

  • Developed with engineer modified wing rib configurations for structural repair.
  • Developed multiple part configurations depending on input from stress analysis
  • Analyzed surrounding structural conditions to verify that repair installation would be feasible
  • Modeled all surrounding structure such as composite sandwich skin panels from drawings
  • Developed with engineer repair to door sill stringer, similar to above

787 Structures Value Engineering

  • Change the composition of the 787 Shear Ties "lowboys" from one type of high-volume composites material to another in order to remove a sole source manufacturer
  • Mass change thickness seed model geometry of 787 low boy shear ties worked with rules and relations and developed my own scripts to execute the work

Boeing Sub-components:

  • Checked GD&T of reverse engineered Mechanism Components for Boeing Sub-components group.
  • Conversed with Boeing GD&T experts to validate and understand intent of geo tols.
  • Developed 2 full mechanism simulations using DMU Kinematics workbench for certification conversations.
  • Helped author certification discussion documentation and participated in certification discussions with Boeing Internal Regulators and lead design engineer. Independently worked with manufacturer to substitute EDM for conventional machining for Engine Cowl Latch. Tolerance stackup studies and modifications.
  • Reverse engineered Stowage Door latch. Developed all drawings using ASME Y-14.5 2009. Worked with manufacturing and produce-ability experts. Materials: Torlon, Aluminum & Stainless Steel

Interiors Value Engineering

  • Developed multiple designs reducing part count resulting in significant cost savings. Over 5 years projected savings of 4+ million dollars.
  • Worked independently to develop my own cost savings.
  • Investigated and employed new technology to replace metallic parts, or reduce the amount of metallic parts.
  • Designed a feasible composite part to replace complicated multi-assembly sheet metal bracket.
  • Projects – Lining arm rest bracket redesign, mechanism guard redesign, Cargo access chute. Overwing Exit Hatch & Door Lining design studies.
  • Worked with manufacturing to integrate part tooling into designs to save costs. Examples: tool holes added to part & included into stress analysis, adding locating features for assembly into machined hogout.
03/2012 to 12/2012 AutoCAD Draftsman Sherrin Glass And Metal | City, STATE,
  • Received and reviewed details from design professionals to determine precise measurements for drawing preparation.
  • Created designs using computer programs such as AutoCAD to complete shop drawings.
01/2011 to 12/2011 Contract Draftsman ZMD International Inc. | City, STATE,

Developed Input Output Diagrams for PLCs from foreman's sketches.
