Assist in supervision of client activities and be aware of client whereabouts at all times, including breaks and internal activities. Attend all mandatory trainings. Engage clients in therapeutic activities, as appropriate. Provide a brief overview of the American Addiction Centers policy in regard to program rules, procedure, and services, with each new client. Maintain order and ensure compliance with rules and regulations; monitor how clients conduct themselves (observation of behaviors). Monitor and document clients for signs of medical distress and/or behavioral conduct on an ongoing basis. Provide appropriate support and structure for clients in dealing with their recovery, interact continually with clients. Ensure wake-up and bedtime, escorts residents on shopping trips, recreations, meetings, medical appointments, etc. Enforces program rules at all times. Distributes daily mail to clients and observes confidentiality standards. Records accurate and up-to date reports. Report to Supervisor any discrepancies in client's whereabouts. Responds appropriately to all medical and other emergencies. When assigned to drive Company vehicles, BHT's are responsible for safe operation and maintenance of vehicles. Conducts search of all client bags when being admitted to the facility. Confiscates and secures any contraband found, and notifies the appropriate Program Director or supervisor on duty in their absence. Randomly inspects all rooms, common areas, and hallways every thirty to sixty minutes.
Organized and managed outreach projects throughout the Las Vegas Valley. Supervised and supported staff members of non-profit organization with supporting 100-200 veterans in program; scheduling community service assignments, VA medical appointments, reintegration of veterans into healthy social environments, drug-testing, and overall life skill practices. Facilitator of Relapse Prevention, Sobriety Support, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, and 12-Step Groups. Processed intake assessments and screening of clients wanting treatment for mental health or substance abuse services. Counseled veteran clients; as to support, assist, and guide them towards healthier lifestyles. SUPERVISORY: To formalized ideas, plans, and goals for fundraising projects or events. Supervisor for 15 AmeriCorps staff members with client intake screenings, and other client needs regarding independent living, and transitional life skill goals or plans. Mediated 'Conflict Resolution' meetings between veteran residents in program. Documented and maintained data entries of case notes, (computer and hard copy files). Responsible for weekly reports of meetings regarding client's status and their individual progress in treatment. Provided weekly reports to Site Director and Program Manager of overall "Veterans in Program" progress.
Under the supervision of the Programs Manager, the Homeless Youth Residential Case Manager is responsible for providing case management services to an assigned caseload of clients enrolled in the Independent Living Program (ILP) and Transitional Living Program (TLP). Case management will focus on stabilizing the client upon program entry, ensuring their needs are identified and met as appropriate, advocating for client, linking client to mainstream services, and assisting the client with successfully graduating the program and achieving self-sufficiency. As part of the case management team, the Homeless Youth Residential Case Manager is responsible for the day to day independent living stability of assigned youth in the independent living program.
