Summary

I love working with animals is an understatement. I am incredibly good at it, and I am exceptional at customer service. I am naturally a kind-hearted, empathetic, and a driven individual. Understanding the non-verbal and verbal ques that animals communicate by is a natural ability of mine. I am currently beginning to become CCPDT certified. I have 9 years of professional experience working in the animal care field, and 5 years experience working in Animal Welfare. I am experienced with supervising very large play groups of dogs, assisting in vet clinics, consulting with pet owners in a professional and empathetic manner, counseling pet-owners on behavior management, and alleviating the stress levels in a shelter setting. I have worked at the Independence Animal Shelter, Midwest Animal ResQ, and Great Plains SPCA. My background includes working as a vet’s assistant and as a care tech in a cage-free boarding business. I am highly proficient in animal care, Adoptions counseling, customer service, intake, and Admissions.

As an Admissions representative, I am familiar and keen on identifying behavior concerns, issues, and types of aggression. My work ethic goes above and beyond. I am a firm believer in reliability, consistency, integrity, and working cohesively as a team. I believe that observational, listening, communication skills are a must. As well as taking accountability and practicing patience. Admissions is an incredibly demanding role, with bats swinging in every direction. My communication with customers is above world class. I have a knack for understanding people and helping them feel better about a situation. I am expert at prioritizing, managing time, and still remain patient and understanding with every individual I speak with.

That being said, my attention to detail is unmatched. Throughout the number of jobs I have held, I have always had a fine eye for my quality of work. Whether it is the quality of food I am making, the Cappuccino am serving, or the dog I am processing. Checking their teeth, their ears, their paw pads, making sure their incision isn't torn open. These skills translate along to everything I do.
