If possible, schedule the entire day off. As an intern, your schedule is likely to be rather flexible, especially if you are not in the office full time. Simply scheduling your week around an interview may be easy to do. Otherwise, you may have to rework your weekly schedule or agree to put in some extra time later. Either way, it is your responsibility to make things easy for your boss and coworkers and to accommodate for anything you might miss while you are out of the office.
Your interview is nobody’s business other than yours and the company with whom you are interviewing. Even as an intern, you should never tell your boss or coworkers that you are interviewing with another company. It sends the message that you are disengaged and headed for the door soon. And that might prompt your boss or the company to help you find it even sooner.
