The economy in your local area also impacts how hard it is to find a job. If you live in an area that doesn't have many jobs, finding a job will be harder than if you live in a market that does.
Companies are also hiring at a slower rate than in the past. In other words, companies are taking longer to fill open jobs. They are often looking for candidates who closely match their job requirements. This isn't always a realistic thought process and it can make it harder for a job seeker to find a job.
Other factors that can play into how hard it is to find a job include: whether or not you have a job now, what degrees you have, what prior work experience you have, and if you live near the company. Many companies also evaluate candidates on whether not they fit in with a company's culture.
If you're struggling to find a job, know that you're not alone. Keep searching and things will work out for you.
