The simple answer is that it depends on your experiences. You are right that giving examples is the best way to demonstrate that you go above and beyond. Simply stating that this is the case does not cut it. Think carefully about your work experiences and pick one example that best captures this ability. It may be when you voluntarily worked overtime or it may be doing something outside your job description.
No matter what example you choose to use, remember a few key points. Do not exaggerate the work that you did in any way. If you received recognition for it, you should mention it, although recognition is not a necessary part of your story. It is best to describe the result your actions had as well.
