First, you need to dress for the part. Even if you would not wear a nice dress shirt and tie every day for this job, you still want to dress nicely for the interview to command respect from the hiring manager. Additionally, you want to show up five to 10 minutes before the interview start. You want to be early, but you do not want to arrive too early because that may be an inconvenience to the office, too.
As you talk at the interview, you should focus on specific stories that display key skills. You will not stand out if you simply say you are a team player. You should be able to provide a story of a time you worked as part of a team and excelled. Finally, you want to send a thank-you email directly to the person you spoke with within 24 hours of the interview.
