I am writing today to rescind the resignation letter which I sent to you on Friday, September 25. Since I gave two week’s notice at that time, and I’m still within that time period, I hope I am also within the period of time that I can rescind my resignation.
In my original resignation letter, I stated that I had enjoyed ten years of employment at J&B Products with consistently excellent performance reviews. I also stated that I was grateful for the learning experience and the feelings of camaraderie that all of us on the project team enjoyed, until Ms. Jones was made the head of our department last year. Unfortunately, the change in the culture within our department with the appointment of Ms. Jones was immediate and negative and I felt I could no longer perform my duties, so I resigned.
I recently became aware that Ms. Jones is no longer employed by J&B. While the circumstances of her departure are not my concern, that fact that the department can now return to it’s former smooth operation makes me want to return to the same standing that I had before. I hope you’ll accept this letter as a reversal of my resignation. I look forward to your acceptance so I can continue to work successfully with the project team.
