Dear Mr. Jessup,

During your hiring process, your performance metrics as a sales professional were outlined very clearly. The process that was to be followed in the event that you did not reach your metrics was also clearly outlined. After receiving your third written warning for poor performance, we have no option but to terminate your employment.

This process began in June with your semi-annual review when you were informed that your numbers were well below the company’s minimum performance standards for two consecutive months. In July, your numbers were still below performance levels and we issued our second written warning. After reviewing your numbers for August, we have decided to issue the third written warning and terminate your employment.

Please report to your supervisor immediately to return all company property and go through the exit interview process. Please remember that your company-issued laptop computer must be returned as it was issued to you or we will charge you the cost of repair or replacement.
