Some main points of intervention:

  • Weekly interdisciplinary Spina Bifida clinics (patients would come once a year) : guiding patients through learning new information (e.g. catheter self-insertion), distraction, comfort & education on blood draws, importance of healthy diet & activity, checking in on social emotional development of child
  • Intervention for all clinic patients, regarding cast removal or pre/post surgery education on pins/wound care, lead activities for patients & siblings to normalize the environment
