  • RE: Job Package
  • The purpose of this memo is to give information about the two internship/programs that I am interested in applying to after I graduate
  • I will first give an overview and description of each job
  • I will then discuss the companies that I am interested in, as well as how I adapted my resume and cover letter to each job
  • Job Description
  • The first program I am interested in is The Villanova Psychology Graduate Program
  • I chose this instead of a job or internship because I plan on going to grad school, therefore I wanted to be further prepared for applying to them
  • The program is a two-year curriculum that gives experience in research and research designs
  • The program contains eight courses, including two laboratory courses, such as cognitive psychology, statistics, and biological courses
  • It is also required that an original research project is conducted in form of a thesis
  • There also elective courses offered to expand the knowledge of the Graduate student to their own goals
  • The second program I am interested in is Wellspan Health’s Behavioral Health Clinical Psychology Internship Program
  • This program is for psychologists who want to work in medical care settings, such as hospitals, outpatient centers, etc
  • Interns in this program will be trained based on CBT, a form of talk therapy
  • These skills are then expected to be used during diagnostic screenings for evaluations of patients
  • Interns are also expected to read research and relay important information onto others
  • This program is very experienced based, and is not very curriculum based
  • Audience Analysis
  • The first program I chose is Villanova University’s Psychology Graduate Program
  • Villanova University is a school with a strong reputation
  • It takes pride in the many professors that went to Ivy League schools
  • The Villanova Psychology Graduate Program requires its Graduate students to work with faculty with their research and consider them to be their mentors
  • The Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences consists of faculty with various research laboratories, such as Dr
  • Irene Kan, who studies neuropsychology and how memory systems affect each other
  • This program is hands on, and they want people who are eager to work on different projects to get the best education possible for their chosen field
  • The second program I chose is Wellspan Health’s Behavioral Health Clinical Psychology Internship Program
  • I’ve been working for Wellspan Health for a few months, as well as my dad has worked for them for over twenty years, therefore I think I have a decent understanding of the company’s qualities they look for in employees, such as leadership, teamwork, a good moral sense, etc
  • Wellspan is a large health network, therefore the setting is very different than a university
  • This program specifically requires working with patients, while continuing to develop and expand on skills learned in the program.
Additional Information
  • Rhetorical Analysis My resumes are fairly similar because the programs require similar education and experience. That being said, I have put different classes in the relevant classes section according to the specific settings the programs take place. Both have Abnormal Psychology listed because the skills and knowledge from that class are extremely beneficial to both programs. However, the resume for
  • For the Wellspan Health Internship Program, I added Medical Aspects of Disability because this class taught about the health field and possible health professional settings, where the program takes place, as well as people with disabilities. I also added Child Abuse and Neglect because most likely, this will play a factor into many of the people being treated and gave an overview of what a healthy way for children to be treated looks like. I made each cover letter very similar. However, because I am currently an employee at Wellspan, I decided to stress that further in the letter to stand out from others because it most likely would be easier to hire someone already working at the company.
