Job Responsibilities
-Operates
an input/output terminal with standard keyboard to enter or obtain data from a
computer based records system and Mechanized Loop Testing (MLT) system.
-
Determines
compatibility between trouble conditions and trouble as reported by the
customer and if trouble has cleared since the report was initiated; Closes
trouble report as appropriate.
-Performs preventive maintenance analysis and
testing; determines operability of cable and pairs following construction
transfer or repair activities; provides centralized mechanized testing support
for inside or outside work forces; and initiates or performs other Maintenance
Center transactions as required or directed

Receives
and analyzes service orders and Basic Output Report and associated
mechanized test results.
-Initiates appropriate action for trouble
resolution including frame interaction, customer contact, mechanized test
results and escalates trouble condition when necessary.

Contacts
customer by telephone to check that trouble has cleared prior to dispatch, expand upon trouble description, renegotiate
commitment time, or check status of trouble prior to close-out of trouble
report.

Dispatches
work and trouble information to receive close-out from inside and outside
maintenance forces. Provides information
such as customer name and address, telephone number, trouble description,
mechanized test results, cable information and commitment time.
-Performs simple translation and inputs changes
via mechanized system, including adding or correcting features and activating
telephone numbers.

Performs control responsibilities
associated with Installation and Repair force administration process.

Interfaces with outside technicians and
performs maintenance and service order pair changes in appropriate mechanized
systems as required.

Reviews and monitors mechanized on-line
administrative reports.

Performs miscellaneous office duties
and maintains miscellaneous records, files, and administrative reports.
-Works with Central Office Frame by telephone or
computer to make cable and pair transfers, Line Equipment Number changes,
or place MLT connection tomake Main Distributing Frame in or out
tests. Interprets and inputs customer
reports and complaints via appropriate mechanized system(s).
-Appointed as Tech Specialist to assist peers with resolution of customer's reported issues.
