I began as a groomer's assistant in 2007, working there two summers in a row. After Cross Country practice (unpleasantly enough, at 630 every morning) I would head over to Laree's Grooming in Pequot Lakes, Minnesota to complete a day of anal gland expressing, bathing, and other chores of that nature. I eventually moved on from this job to the jewelry industry, working at Merritt Jewelers in Pequot Lakes for two years. In time I realized the family business might be for me, so I left Merritt Jewelers and worked for my family's utility locating business as an administrative assistant, managing bills and payment, inputting, and providing assistance to the company's one-hundred employees and countless customers over the phone and in person. I finally decided my life long dream of becoming a veterinarian would be the only occupation to suffice, and so far my newest job at Granite City Pet Hospital and Surgical Center has been my favorite job yet. Unfortunately a majority of my tasks there involve boarding animals, and still being in my three-month training phase, I've decided I want to focus entirely on Veterinary Medicine instead of boarding and daycare mixed with Veterinary Medicine. My title at the moment is kennel assistant and I'm hoping to find a job as a veterinary assistant, as it will focus more on my career choices.
