All process colors were were ordered 5 business days in advance
All PMS colors needed to be calculated for coverage and run
length up to two weeks prior to delivery.
Responsible for the daily record keeping of ink used on every job ran on every machine. These records were used in billing and inventory of ink.
I coordinated what type of ink was to be ran on what press. I worked closely with the production planners to insure the right ink was used on the job being printed. I also provided feedback as to the order in which jobs needed to be run and on what machine. I attended production meetings twice daily to insure all departments conveyed relevant information concerning the daily schedule.
Planned and calculated ink switches which occurred hours before the next job was scheduled to run due to the length of piping from the pumping stations to the press. This reduced waste and increased efficiency.
Directed press operators as to what fountains needed to be changed at end of job to be ready for the next job. I supplied ink to the presses and pump stations as necessary using a forklift.
Calculated the amount of PMS ink necessary to complete the job and did all the purchasing using SAP. All purchases needed to be within 20% of actual usage. This allowed for waste on start up and any printing issues that occurred.
