As a hostess if the floor gets to busy we are expected to take on the duties of the waiters and busboys which can be very stressful on a busy night juggling 3 duties but I have experience with that in both small chain restaurants and larger chains. Had I not been moving to Alaska I would have gotten promoted to server in the smaller chain restaurants and almost got promoted to "to-go's" in the larger chain (very large step up form hostess).
