Fire Captain, 10/1994 to 01/2002
San Benito County (Ca) Fire Department (CalFire)City, STATE,

I began my career as a Paid/On Call firefighter with the San Benito County Fire Department who was contracted with and under the umbrella of CalFire (formerly CDF). I began as a basic firefighter/EMT and quickly promoted to the ranks of Fire Captain. I would respond to everything requiring an emergency response including medical calls, aircraft emergencies, structure fires, hazardous materials incidents as well as wildland fires which included those within our ETJ as well as county and state extended responses. I accrued over 1100 hours in this time frame in just the wildland arena which didn't include actual response and fire suppression.

I maintained a very high level of training in all aspects for firefighting as well as my medical education. I maintained fire equipment and apparatus in addition to responding those units to emergency situations. I would provide training to volunteers, Paid/On Call personnel and subordinates while obtaining training myself.
