  • I started my career at KAMR / KCIT as a Commercial Photographer.
  • My responsibilities included shooting video and being a part of the morning news production crew.
  • I was promoted to Commercial Producer where I met with multiple clients, worked closely with them and my team on creating commercials and advertising content, and held a strong relationship with our sales team.
  • I moved to the news department in 2006 to become a news producer for various newscasts on KCIT and KAMR.
  • I was later promoted to Assignment Editor.
  • Most importanly, my job was to get the news correct and quickly out to our viewers.
  • My other responsibilities included maintaining a strong communication with multiple news sources, management of a newsroom consisting of 10 or more people and getting our news content posted to Facebook, Twitter, and myhighplains.com.
  • As an added bonus, I was one of the female voice actors used in commercials and promotional advertising.

  • During this time I was put on a 2 person project to create a new entertainment newscast for the newly acquired WB channel.
  • My job duties included formatting, branding, graphics, and coming up with new hip and modern ways of setting this Amarillo newscast apart from the rest of the pack.
  • We created three different shows but shortly after one was green lighted contracts were broken outside of my control and the project was shut down.
  • I left KVII to work full time on my Mass Communications degree at WTAMU.
