Free Jobseeker Sample Letter: Declining a Job Offer
If you are a jobseeker who has been offered a job that you have decided not to accept, the polite response is to refuse the offer in writing. Use this sample letter to develop your own version of a letter thanking the hiring manager for — and politely declining — a job offer.
Dear Ms. Johnson:
Thank you for the time and effort you spent considering me for the position of seminar leader. I appreciate your time and effort and I am grateful for your offer of employment.
Because I was so impressed with Greenley Corp., I had a difficult decision to make. However, after much thought and careful deliberation, I have decided not to accept your offer.
I wish you and Greenley Corp. continued success. I hope our paths will cross again in the future.
Thank you again for your time and consideration.
