As you check out some recommendation letter samples, there are a few things to notice regarding the standard business letter format. First, use the recipient's name in the greeting. Then, in the opening paragraph, deliver a sincere and authentic recommendation of the subject for the role and organization being applied to.
In the following paragraph, mention the capacity by which you are associated with the person for whom you are writing the recommendation, their qualifications, and relevant contributions, accomplishments, and aptitude for future success.
In the closing paragraph, thank the recipient for their time and consideration, and include a personal signature if possible. Keep the letter brief, no more than one page in length.
Remember that recommendation letters are usually read early in the hiring process. They are often given considerable weight, and are one of the few means to differentiate among a pool of talented candidates.
