Take the time to review the experiences and skills demonstrated on our resume templates. Use it as inspiration for your own resume. Of course you need to only include skills that actually apply to you, but you can see what the most common skills for programming positions are. This lets you prioritize the most beneficial skills to include on your resume. In addition to that, you can see which abilities each individual employer values by taking a close look at the job description. We have so many resume guides that provide useful tips and strategies just like that one.

Here are examples of computer programmer resume samples (including specialist, senior programmer, and developer), and here are few more general programmer examples. Notice what they all have in common.
The overall layout is crisp and neatly divided into sections. At the top is a highly focused professional summary statement. It needs to immediately establish that you’re a close match, whether through accomplishments or a branding statement.
The next section lists your skills. These should double as top keywords sought by both the ATS and recruiter, so you’ll want to pull them verbatim from the job description. Don’t neglect important soft skills.
Following that is the experience section. Here, outline accomplishments most relevant to the opening, using quantifiable figures where possible. The final section includes education and certifications, the latter of which you should always include if specifically required by the job description.
