Hired in as labor pool employee in operations. Worked in roll finishing dept. where responsibilities included staging parent rolls of paper behind rewinders to be cut into customer orders, cutting cores for paper to be processed on, operating wrapper to wrap customer rolls and send to shipping dept.

Transferred to supercalender dept. and moved through the lines of progression from core cutter to 3rd assistant which ran overhead bridge crane transporting parent reels of paper from off machine coater to supercalenders to winders, helped thread supercalenders and used tug to pull reel transport cart to paper machine winder. Moved up to winder assistant being responsible for entering setup information in computer and printing labels for processed rolls, putting processed rolls on conveyor for transfer to shipping dept. Then promoted to Winder operator with responsibility of entering setup information into winder, controlling winder curves, tension, speed, trim and processing parent reels into customer rolls. Did setup training to Supercalender operator.

Worked on committee to develop work redesign system for department.

Got into an apprenticeship program in 2006 for multi craft maintenance

mechanic and finished early in 2009.

Repaired and maintained various types of machinery used in paper industry including pumps, electric motors, gearboxes, shaker screens, conveyors. Rebuilt paper carrying rolls, made up hydraulic hoses, used welder to make repairs to broken equipment and fabricate new parts for existing equipment. Experienced in rigging, operating overhead cranes, forklifts, elevated platforms, extended reach forklifts. Knowledge of Modicon systems and experienced in SAP and Lockout Tagout.
