In 2007, was awarded an operations job in the Sunoco Oil Refinery after successfully making it into the pool of 125 candidates after 2 separate and very crowded field of potential operators. Served in the Apprentice Program, being enrolled in the 6 week FORE school crash course for the fundamentals of refining. Started working at a hydrogen desufleration unit (HDS) and fulfilled my 3 year apprenticeship. Became a safety steward, after 4 years and a union shop steward after 5. In 2012 the Sunoco Refinery was sold to Philadelphia Energy Solutions where I am still employed. In 2014, I transferred from the HDS unit to the Point Breeze Blending and Shipping area, where I currently work. I currently hold 6 qualifications to separate and different work areas in my field. Safety is my number one concern and am a diligent and focused worker, who works well alone and in a team.
Due to unforeseen events, the refinery closed and I am currently enrolled at the University of Pennsylvania for cyber-security. I will graduate in May of 2020 from their cyber-security boot-camp.
