Art is a hobby of mine that I've had an interest in ever since I was a little kid or specifically, until I can even remember; I started drawing around the same time that I started to writing.

I didn't start creating and actually selling any art pieces until I was around 12 years old or actually when I was in 6th grade, I wasn't aware of how talented I actually was until I had offers from people about creating pieces for them and since then; I have continued to create art pieces in many different aspects because I know that this technique is a special talent of mine that not everyone has. I was still in school when I was given the privilege of competing in art completions that the school would host through UIL academics, I didn't start competing until I was a freshman in high school. I wasn't even aware that I could compete with this type of technique, I only considered it as a hobby or something I did just because I found it relaxing; who knew that having a technique that I found relaxing could also be used to compete with other in this specific aspect.

Competing also lead to my reality though, I realized that I wasn't the only person out there that had this unique and talented technique that everyone was amazed I could do. I also realized that I wasn't as good as I thought I was or what everyone made me out to be, there were people that were better; so much better or so I thought anyway. Through my years of high school and competing against kids my own age, I realized that not everyones art skills were the same. Each and every single person that I came across, had something or a different technique that made them stand out from everyone else. I mean sure I realized it when I first started competing, but those were only small and local events, I didn't actually realize it until I made it to State UIL for an art completion called VASE where there's around 35,000 entires in the state of Texas alone. Through those entries, only 2,500 make it to state and thought those; only 100 are able to get a Gold Seal which is the highest reward that you can receive in this completion. Sadly, I didn't receive one of those but Iwas thankful for the experience and having the opportunity to go to State.

From this experience, I have thrived and learned how create better and more efficient art pieces in the future because if there's one main thing that these art competitions made me come to reality to; it would be imagination and technique not just talent in this world.
