Plan on including at least two or three professional contacts if you add a references section to your resume. Every entry should include the name of your reference, their professional title, and their contact information.
Before you submit an application with your references, make sure you notify your contacts letting them know that you included them on your resume. This way, they can prepare to provide a strong recommendation to potential employers when contacted.
You should also not be afraid to ask someone to be a reference for you, especially if you have a strong professional relationship. In most cases, former employers or associates will feel flattered you wanted to include them and that you value their opinion of your skills and abilities.
