Registered Nurse, Emergency Department Resume Example

REGISTERED NURSE, EMERGENCY DEPARTMENT
Summary

As a nurse for over forty years, I have extensive experience in the Emergency Department and general hospital facility . I have worked in the Med/Surg department, Obstetrics and since 1991 exclusively in the Emergency Department of facilities with 12-25 beds in a variety of capacities such as general staff , charge nurse and mentor to student nurses and new employees. I have maintained certifications in BLS, PALS, ACLS, TNCC and Neonatal Resuscitation throughout my career. I have a good relationship with patients and co-workers and despite my work experience am not above learning new skills or methods relating to the out-patient surgery center. I retired from my last nursing position in August 2020 but still would like to be considered for a part-time or contingent position. I love starting IV'S and have been called to other departments in the hospital to initiate IV therapy when they were unsuccessful obtaining venous access. I also have been a patient so I can relate to their fears and concerns as well. Even though retired and 66 years old, I feel I have a lot to contribute as a nurse and team member.
