Additional Information
  • I routinely researched, gathered, coordinated and compiled technical data in order to prepare for the submission of Technical Assistance Requests (TAR's) I have prepared TAR's for technical difficulties, to request repair authority, and for inspection waiver requests on behalf of propulsion, as well as many other specialties. I have often developed repair procedures not covered in current technical manuals, and coordinated engineering approval and ultimately these procedures have ended up in our technical manuals. Such efforts save money, conserve resources, maximize aircraft utilization, and address safety concerns both at Home station and while deployed in Polar environments. The technical respect and rapport I have developed with WRALC Technical Coordination Group, Propulsion Engineering section provided me with a competent sounding board, and valuable professional resource.
  • I have been involved with the testing, and development, and ultimate installation of both the Electronic Propeller Control System (EPCS) and NP2000 propeller system, currently fielded on Stratton's eight LC-130 fleet. This has included coordination with Hamilton Sundstrand (now Rockwell Collins) engineering staff, and numerous sub-contractors. I continue to collaborate with, and assist other C-130 units as they transition to both the EPCS, and NP2000 Propeller Systems.
  • I conceived several tools to enable propeller maintenance operations which were subsequently developed tested and manufactured for use on the 109th AW's NP2000 equipped LC-130 fleet I articulated our unique environment and resource driven requirements, and collaborated on a unique propeller lift accommodating lifting height restrictions, and a totally unique blade "jack" which enables blade changes on the wing which requires no overhead lifting capability
