Description: The Unclaimed Property Management of Information System (UPMIS) system has been designed to collect, compile, and report unclaimed property data on the Property Reporting, Cash Property Management, Securities Property Management, Tangible Property Management, and Property Claims in Florida. UPMIS application is responsible for:

  • Providing a web-based, user friendly environment to view, claim, and process unclaimed property
  • It offers to the public a method of receiving a claim form immediately after ordering through Unclaimed Property’s website.
  • For the internal user, the system gives additional options to view holder and asset management information, as well as better methods to prevent payment of fraudulent claims
  • For the locator, UPMIS offers a more comprehensive method of building a contract which will provide consistency for the claims analyst while reviewing locator claims

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for participating in weekly status meetings with DUP (Department of Unclaimed Property) customer/users to gather new requirements.
  • Prepare business requirement and design documents to be approved by Department of Unclaimed Property users including project documents including cost estimates detailed around work hours for every task for respective enhancements.
  • Develop User Interactive Web Application pages which contain both client (HTML/JSP) and server side controls in the process of implementing new requirements using tools such as Java, Javascript, Tomcat Server, SQL and frameworks such as Spring and Ice faces
  • Work on high priority holder reporting and admin module defect tickets with strict timelines.
  • Implement new workflow for allowing holder to submit an unclaimed property report in form of defined CSV file templates.

Project 1: FALCON

Description: FALCON is the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s state-of-the-art system for identifying criminal suspects reporting data and running background checks.

Through a single web portal, authorized users have:

  • Ability to biometrically identify a criminal subject with fingerprints. It also enables the comparison of palm prints and image management.
  • Ability to pull criminal information from state and national databases
  • Up to date Watch-Lists and notifications of retained applicants for any criminal activity
  • On-site Livescans that ensure identification of a subject from arrest to court action, incarceration, physical transfer, release and probation.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for facilitating weekly meetings with customer/users to gather new requirements.
  • Prepared business requirement and design documents.
  • Prepared project documents including cost estimates detailed around work hours for every task for enhancements.

Description: The FDLE Firearm Purchase Program representatives currently use FES to make firearm purchase approval/non-approval decisions for gun purchases within the state of Florida. These decisions are based on a person’s demographic information provided to them by registered gun dealers in the state of Florida who have called into the Firearm Purchase Program Queue. The web system allows dealers to submit the information online.

Responsibilities

  • Understood the current FES system and integration points with external system.
  • Enhanced the current FES system to allow existing system to permit CJAs to login to FES and submit transactions through the online system wherein there will be no charge for DOF (Disposition of Firearm) transactions.
  • Designed and implemented new workflow and respective UI for the DOF agency and respective users.
  • Tested the DOF workflow for integration with external system for background checks.

Description: The Sub Grant Information On-line System (SIMON) helps the Office of Criminal Justice Grants (OCJG) for the administration of federal programs totaling more than $68 million and over 400 grants each year. The SIMON application builds on the concepts and forms laid out in Grants Processing Management, Monitoring Information System (GPMMIS) and the Performance Reporting System (PRS). SIMON includes custom written interfaces for use by FDLE OCJG staff, the local sub grantees, and FDLE Finance and Accounting personnel for requesting, managing and reporting the funds.
