Worked as a commercial Painter only to be quickly moved up to Foreman/Estimator. Would be sent to large Apartment complexes to take pictures and notes to gauge the amount of materials/labor and mobilization costs as well as any other applicable expenses. Using Microsoft Excel I would then make a spreadsheet showing rates for everything needed to complete the job and send it to the owner for final approval before creating a Proposal Letter using MS Word, then would send it to the property management for the bid. I would work closely with property management or HOAs or construction companies we were subcontracted through.
Residential painting for my grandfather whom is a master painter of over 50 years. Learned from a man who was there for the invention of the paint roller, quite literally. He also was determined for perfection and an eye for detail that most overlook when painting. This man taught me that painting is 70% prep and cleaning, and 30% paint. Under his tutelage I can cut a line like a laser, and I can do it with the most crude brush on the site! Maintaining and keeping my tools clean was also something my grandfather drilled into me.
• I worked in a small office with no computer calling out of a filing cabinet and making sure they were notated appropriately and filed correctly. Was also in charge of contacting all references listed for loan if unable to contact the debtor directly. I would be tasked with finding out what their current balances and then working with them on a payment schedule and caught up. This often took a lot of on the fly problem solving and alot of sleuthing and thinking outside of the box. For some I would also be contacting them on day of set schedules
I worked here for a second job to Mountain Loan Centers. It only paid 8.50/$hr but I love figuring out how things work so this job was alot of fun for me.Fixing computers and game consoles along with other misc. electronics that would often be purchased from Vegas pawn shops and warehouses and damaged, or as-is items and depending on the item would also help make ebay listings for items I repaired or set up for the weekly auctions.
