City, STATE, 05/201206/2012
Over the span of two months I shadowed an anesthesiologist at University of Tennessee Medical Center. I went into several surgeries including an appendectomy, knee replacement and a caesarean section with Dr. Mobley. This was my first exposure to shadowing a healthcare provider.
PhysAssist ScribeMedical Scirbe
City, STATE, 09/201306/2015
As a medical scribe I recorded patient data and medical records for various ER physicians. I worked at 5 hospitals in rural and urban settings. Shifts correlated with the emergency doctors, so that every doctor had a scribe on shift. I coded disease and injury diagnoses, along with procedures in an inpatient setting. I also charted an extensive history, description of present illnesses, review of systems, lab values, radiology readings, and always included a disposition and diagnosis as dictated by the physician.
KaplanKaplan Suture Clinic

As a biology tutor I was expected to attend an entry level biology class three times a week. After attending class I led review sessions and reviewed the high yield topics that I took notes on during class. I also made worksheets and lead review sessions before the exams.
MathDocsAcademic Tutor/Mentor
City, STATE, 07/2017
Volunteering for Math Docs includes going to an afterschool program and tutoring middle school students in math or reading. As I tutor I had to learn to adapt to each student's needs and adjust my teaching to fit their learning style.
Remote Area MedicalGeneral Volunteer
City, STATE,
I have worked two Remote Area Medical (RAM) Clinics. These clinics give patients access to free health care. As a volunteer I helped with working in the vision clinic, taking medical histories, directing patient flow and passing out snacks. Working the clinic with a smile and a few jokes seemed to lighten the mood for these patients.
