Summary

Graphics Hardware Engineer with 6+ years experience in RTL Design, Micro-architecture, 3D Graphics Architecture and Pre-silicon validation. Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University with specialization in Digital Signal Processing and its applications in Image Analytics and Computer Vision.

Areas of Expertise
  • Digital VLSI Logic Design
  • 3D Computer Graphics
  • Computer Architecture
  • Digital Signal Processing
  • Digital Image Processing
  • Computer Vision
Relevant Project Work
  • Based on the Semantic Robot Vision Challenge (SRVC) problem statement and motivation, developed a software (C++, OpenCV, MATLAB and Perl) to go web crawling to find relevant image sets of objects. Wrote algorithms to build appearance learning models from it, learn object semantics, and then use it to identify the same objects in a room environment.
  • Simulated processing stages of a Camera pipeline in MATLAB ISET (Image Systems Evaluation Toolbox) to calculate the Camera flash light for best image quality. Analyzed raw data read from a Camera Phone to compute key parameters like filter spectral sensitivity, various noise types etc.
  • Developed a MATLAB tool to obtain Gabor Wavelet decomposition of images. Image analysis with Gabor filters is similar to perception in the human visual system. It has applications in feature extraction for image recognition of various biometrics such as iris, fingerprint, face etc. as well as optical character recognition.
  • Implemented and evaluated various image processing techniques and algorithms in MATLAB, for the objective of fast and automated CD cover recognition.
  • Video game development of a visually pleasing 3D version of the standard Tetris in C++ and OpenGL, using principles and techniques of 3D Computer Graphics.
Work Experience
Graphics Hardware Engineer, 03/2009 to 07/2015
HoneywellMunhall, PA,
  • Defined and wrote Architecture specifications (A-specs) for the Intermediate-Depth Unit (IZ) and Coarse-Pixel-Shader Unit (CPSC) in the 3D Graphics pipeline. Contributed ideas for improvements to IZ micro-architecture.
  • Designed RTL in System Verilog (SV) for IZ, CPSC and part of Stencil-Cache (STC).
  • Experience in techniques of die area optimization, static timing analysis, dynamic power reduction and others. Hands-on with flows for structural design, power analysis, formal verification and other tools of design.
  • Provided leadership and mentorship to co-workers.
  • Adept at advanced scripting, defining test-plans, functional coverage based validation, GRITS test content writing and other validation roles.
  • Developed hardware verification testbenches for Unit-level Testing (ULT) and Cluster-level Testing (CLT) in SV by using object oriented concepts and BFMs in CGFramework.
  • Extensive debug experience in pre-Silicon validation at ULT, CLT, pipe and Emulation level.
Research Assistant, 08/2008 to 02/2009
Doylestown HospitalDoylestown, PA,
  • Awarded tuition waiver with stipend to work as a Research Assistant by the Department of Bioengineering, Stanford University.
  • Developed a system level software using MATLAB for image processing and analysis of optically imaged time-series data of brain activity in transgenic mice and for automated calibration of radiation-therapy instruments.
Graduate Intern, 05/2008 to 08/2008
Amazon.Com, Inc.East Point, GA,
  • Wrote JavaCC parser generator with alterations made to the standard C grammar to support custom C code modifications to Ingress and Egress networking pipelines.
Project Engineer, 06/2006 to 04/2007
Huitt-ZollarsHouston, , India
  • Development of system level software for full automation of Energy Management Systems (EMS), using elements of socket programming and databases. Designed GUI for system configuration, data monitoring, data processing and visualization.
  • Features of s/w are real time energy data acquisition, historical data reports, computation models, cost accounting, trending, forecasting, load profiling.
  • Experience with client marketing, customer interactions, presentations, s/w design specifications, field visits, product testing and tech support roles.
