Environmental, Health and Safety Program Development.

  • Developed and implemented Corporate wide Environmental, Health, Safety and Industrial Hygiene Program to ensure compliance objectives are met within all locations across multiple business platforms. Business platforms included Lighting Products, Industrial Controls, Motion Control Systems, Component Transformers, Variable Speed Drives and Systems, Generators, Power Electronics Systems, Small and Large Fractional Horsepower Motors, Utilities and Power Products, and Telecom Power Systems.

Environmental, Health and Safety Program Composition.

  • Program writing for all the specific EHS company- wide initiatives including: Hazard Communication, Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS), Emergency Response Planning, Disaster Recovery Planning, Hearing Conservation, Confined Space, Lockout-Tagout, Electrical Safety, Fall Protection, Hazard Materials, Respirator, Personal Protective Equipment, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, Ergonomics, Crane Safety, Safe Lifting, Bloodborne Pathogens, Workplace Violence, Active Shooter, Accident Investigation, Material Handling Equipment including Fork and Scissor Lifts, Hot Work Permit, Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and EHS New Employee Orientation.

Environmental, Health and Safety Training Development.

  • Developed and performed specific training modules for the above listed programs at all company-wide locations. Additional training modules performed include Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Hazardous Waste Generator. Specific to Canadian operations, Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) training was developed and performed.

Environmental, Health and Safety Audits.

  • Developed and performed EHS audits at all company held locations to ensure compliance is maintained with all Environmental and Safety Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Chemical Tracking System.

  • Developed an internal chemical tracking system designed to gather data on constituent usage by facility to assist in the completion of applicable governmental reports where required such as US EPA Sara Title III Chemical Reporting Requirements if thresholds were exceeded.

Safety Team Leadership.

  • Provided leadership for all plant functions safety teams and assisted with safety process improvements and plans. Implemented and served as chairperson for specific site Safety Committees designing written charter and inspection surveys.

Industrial Hygiene.

  • Developed and maintained a company-wide Industrial Hygiene program whereby sampling of related manufacturing work stations for specific chemical constituents are critical to the safety and health of the employees and reduced the ongoing liability to the organization.

Environmental Permitting.

  • Prepared and attained all required Environmental permitting related to current operations or any potential future business acquisitions.

Waste Minimization.

  • Developed a waste minimization program designed to reduce, reuse, and recycle appropriate materials limiting the impact on waste streams. Source Reduction initiatives such as converting to the use of lead free solder in manufacturing were included as part of this program.

Due Diligence.

  • Served as a key member on the due diligence team to assist the senior staff in review of all related Environmental, Health, Safety, Insurance, and Facilities related concerns prior to a potential business acquisition or divestiture.

Process Improvement Program.

  • Developed internal process improvement program initiative implementing engineering controls within manufacturing systems designed to reduce or eliminate repetitive motion injuries.

Global.

  • Coordinated and performed EHS audits and implemented programs in countries in which the Corporation held a presence. Applicable countries included Canada, Mexico, the European Union, and China. Developed applicable Reach regulation documentation for products which were provided to the European Union.

Facilities.

  • Negotiated and coordinated the process to completion of all associated lease agreements, extensions, leasehold improvements, terminations, etc. related to all company held worldwide locations.

Insurance.

  • Developed and implemented the Company’s Master Executive Risk and Property and Casualty Insurance Portfolio in a manner that fulfilled the mission and strategic goals of the organization.
