I have been a surgical technologist for 19 years and coming up on two of those years being a Certified Surgical First Assistant. I love my job as well as loving what we do everyday. While scrubbing tables were my first love in my career assisting in surgery gives me a great fulfillment. When scrubbed in surgery I always focus on that task at hand but always being aware that the patient is that most important part of that task. I am very proficient at my job but I do always look for ways to improve my skill set. I passed my boards for CSFA in 2020 and that was the proudest moment in my career. First assisting has helped me grow in my field as well as teaching others in the assisting roll. Also with the accomplishment of becoming a CSFA, I also gained tech specialist title for my specialties. I continue to strive to continue my knowledge in all specialties as well as keeping my team on task.
