In 2011 I graduated High School at Lehi high in Utah. During my high school and Jr. high years I participated in extra curricular activities such as TSA (Technology student association) for two years, and High school wrestling for my Jr. and Senior year competing in the 119 and 125 weight classes. during my Senior year in High school I enlisted in the United States Army as a 15R (Apache helicopter mechanic). There weeks after graduation (June 20) I was sent to basic training at Ft. Leonard Wood Missouri in A Co. 1/48 Infantry chemical brigade. September 1 I graduated basic training and on the 2nd of September I was bussed to Ft. Eustis Virginia to A Co. 1/222 Aviation sky masters brigade for 17 weeks to get qualified as a 15R. shortly after graduating 15R school I was deployed to Afghanistan with D Co. 1/211 Attack Reconnaissance battalion. I mobilized in Ft hood TX. during mobilizing in Ft. hood I became qualified to be a Hazmat certifier. I departed Ft hood May 5 to Afghanistan. I served 8 months In RC North (Regional Command). I returned home Jan 20 2013.

As a 15R I have worked on many Apache Attack Helicopters. During 8 Months in Afghanistan working with D Co. Heavy maintenance I Phased 16 Aircraft (8 500hr phases and 8 250hr phases) and numerous 125 flight hour inspections and unscheduled maintenance calls.
As a hazmat certifier I package, pack, prepare, placard, and separate hazardous materials for shipping. While in Afghanistan I was responsible for getting all of my company's hazardous materials prepared for shipment back to the united states.
The primary duties of a 15R are.
Removes and installs airplane subsystem assemblies such as engines, rotors, gearboxes, transmissions, mechanical flight controls and their components. Services and lubricates aircraft and subsystems. Prepares aircraft for inspections and maintenance checks. Performs scheduled inspections and assists in performing special inspections. Performs limited maintenance operational checks and assists in diagnosing and troubleshooting aircraft subsystems using special tools and equipment as required. Uses and performs operator maintenance on tools, special tools and aircraft ground support equipment. Prepares forms and records related to aircraft maintenance. Performs air crewmember duties.
Provides technical guidance to subordinate personnel. Performs operational checks and scheduled inspections. Diagnoses and troubleshoots malfunctions in aircraft subsystems.
I attended a 2 week course where I learned and became qualified as a hazmat certifier.
