Experience
Title - Scientific officer, 01/2007 - 2008
Nuclear Power Corporation India Limited City, STATE, (NPCIL) Rawatbhata and Kaiga, India http://www.npcil.nic.in The Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) is a government-owned corporation of India based in Mumbai. One of the public sector undertakings, it is wholly owned by the Union Government and is responsible for the generation of nuclear power for electricity. NPCIL is administered by the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), part of Ministry of Science and Technology. NPCIL is the only utility company in India which uses nuclear fuel sources. Title - Scientific officer, Feb 2007-Jan 2008 - Received 6 months long class room training on various functional aspects of a nuclear power plant: ◦ Successfully learnt the operation and protection systems of Pressurized Heavy Water Reactor (PHWR) ◦ Received instructions on operation and control of turbine-generator set and power transmission systems - Received 3 months long practical commissioning training for a 220 MW capacity of nuclear power plant ◦ Gained experience in systems long commissioning, system operations, preparation of commissioning procedures, technical information reports and commissioning reports ◦ Worked on the commissioning of emergency diesel generator, used as a back-up supply of power in case of emergency situation at nuclear plant. ◦ Worked on the commissioning of control room, used to centralized the control on nuclear reactors and its protective system as well as power generation and its transmission to other remote locations - Ranked 4 in a class of 90 students based on the consistent good performance in evaluation exams and final interview. Received an option to work at a new commissioning site in Rawatbhata, Rajasthan, which provided a tremendous opportunity to gain experience in power plants.
Title - Lecturer, 07/2005 - 2007
Mahakal Institute Of Technology City, STATE, Successfully managed and taught electrical engineering courses such as digital control system, network system, power systems protection and power electronics - Received appreciation from college board and dean on several occasions for exemplary teaching skills - Proactive initiated the set-up of control system lab; provided coaching on MATLAB software to new students - Mentored students, organized college events and managed training and placement unit

Field of interest Reliability Analysis, Power System Stability, FACTs Devices. Projects M.S. Project summary - Transient Stability Enhancement of Electric Power Grid by Novel Braking Resistor Models Implementation of Braking Resistor is an efficient method to improve the transient stability of the power grid system by decreasing the increasing speed of connected generators in the grid system. Two new three phase braking resistor models, Rectifier Controlled Braking Resistor and Chopper Rectifier Controlled Braking Resistor, are proposed in this work. These models are designed with a single unit of braking resistor for a three phase system. The proposed models have a benefit of reduced size and area, resulting in reduced cost with comparable performance with the existing Thyristor Controlled Braking Resistor.

GPA:
Master of Technology Project - Study of Reliability Criteria for the Distribution and Sub-Transmission System Reliability Criteria is calculated for a live network of Maharashtra Power Grid System by using self-developed software. The outage parameters are calculated for each section of line and protection devices and then combined reliability is calculated for the given distribution system and sub-transmission system. The data is calculated for a per year basis. Project work in Bachelor of Engineering - Use of Artificial Neural Network in Power System Application Artificial Neural Network is an effective computational technique to solve a non-linear equation. Back-propagation training method is implemented to train a neural network for solving power system fault detection problem. The line voltages and currents are fed in the network and power is measured at the output. A four input and single output system with single hidden layer with four neurons is designed. The coding for neural network is done in MATLAB software. Papers Published 1) R. Claire and M. H.
