Performed acceptance tests on power transformers to include oil sampling, winding resistance test, power factor test, excitation current test, alarm contact verification, meggering of high and low windings, and turns ratio test. Performed acceptance tests on 25kV vacuum circuit breakers to include ductoring main contacts, Hi-Potential testing of vacuum bottles, and insulation resistance. Gas Turbine Electrical Technician (GSE) Operate and perform advanced organizational and/or intermediate maintenance to the component level of gas turbine main propulsion and electrical power generating plant control systems onboard a Navy Cruiser. Team leader in the planning and fulfillment of numerous special projects in main Engineering Department in preparation for ship's formal decommissioning. Troubleshot and restored ships entire gas turbine engine electronics control system including power supplies, electronic control systems, circuit cards and myriad plant electrical/electronics, restoring ship from near zero to 100% operational status in only three weeks of service.
