The goal of the NERC Mitigation Program is to raise electric transmission towers to ensure wire heights conform to NERC's GO-95 standard, for PG&E, one of the largest utilities in the US. In this diverse service territory, each project presents a unique set of challenges. For example, we have used helicopters to fly linemen and cage-tops to towers in remote mountain locations, and we have used cranes to pick and replace wood poles along a roadside.
•Manage a team of five employees and report to Burns & McDonnell Section Manager
•Forecast projects on a monthly/yearly basis, report against cost and schedule variances monthly
•Created and maintain 500 cost loaded Primavera schedules
•Coordinate with PG&E GC crews to balance resource use across system
•Maintain Purchase Order log to provide project managers contract commitment information
•Create spending approval documents to confirm projects are not held up for gate approval
•Use SAP to create cost and commitment reports to create job estimates
•Update weekly status report to client, covering project completions, discrepancies mitigated, cumulative spend, variances to plan, as well as issues, risks, and accomplishments.
