Professional Summary

I graduated as a genetic counselor from UC Berkeley in 1997 during a time when molecular testing was much more limited. The emphasis was on assisting patients through both knowledge of complex disorders as well as counseling regarding issues unique to a specific condition. Genetic testing has now emerged as a patient's forefront expectation in terms of understanding their individualized risk. Providing information regarding the diverse laboratory tests as well as offering support and coping instruction has become a critical component of the testing process. I hope to bring my genetic knowledge and clinical skills to a new set of patients and consumers in need of understanding and education.
