For many students who have recently graduated from college, there may not be as many career options as there have been in previous years. In industries such as hospitality, career hopefuls should learn how to restructure their searches and be prepared to try a destination they might not have thought of before.

While many students may have had dreams of a career as a manager for a major hotel, they may have to set their sights on something else, according to Hotel News Now. This does not mean that they will not find gainful employment, but potential employees may want to consider broadening their horizons and looking at small hotel companies.

Many schools are beginning to notice this hiring trend and are reaching out to smaller hotels for participation in career fairs.

"One of the things that we did immediately was really tap into the second-tier management companies," Brumby McLeod, a hospitality professor told the news provider. "The big guys quit hiring, but the little ones still had properties opening all around the region."

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, individuals with careers as a hotel manager can bring in up to $85,000 in annual salary.ADNFCR-1502-ID-19649380-ADNFCR
